Hi Joe,
Although I didn’t know you well, I’m still shocked by your sudden departure. The whole school is. I only knew you as the guy who was constantly being teased about some rumour that was going round school. It was the first time i heard your surname, “Joe Foo”. I remembered your name because it kinda reminded me of the word, ”joyful”.
I’ve never really spoken to you before, I’ve only heard your name once or twice. We’ve never kept in contact after we graduated. But what I didn’t know was that the next time I heard your name, it would be to hear of the sad news that you passed away while serving the nation. Sorry that I’ve missed your wake. I was having a presentation while you were being sent off but I witnessed your funeral on the Channel 8 news. It was a really sad scene.
I hope you’re in a better place now.
Rest in peace, my friend. We will miss you.
Your Schoolmate,
Jacqueline Phang.

Haha. Apparently, I don’t give positive reinforcement to my clients.
Soooooooooo, at one time during clinicals, I was asked to come out with all the possible words to praise someone. It’s almost like an English test for synonyms for the word, “good”, except that I had to say it in every language I know. Kinda weird…..and according to my supervisor, I say it very patronisingly. >< I think it’s my natural talent to sound like that. But the mini test worked slightly leh!
I began to say, “hen hao” to every patient. -.-
At least it’s an improvement.
HEN HAO!!
Random Question: Did Julia sms any of you girls recently? Haha.

You are 11:59 a.m.
You are late-sleepy relaxation, the half-awake moment when you realize it’s morning, but you don’t have to get up, because there’s no place you have to be. You are that cozy spot under the covers where everything feels temporarily perfect, even if you know you’ll eventually have to wiggle out and start the day. Maybe you’re the artistic type, who doesn’t function well on a normal schedule. Sleep’s important to you, and you like the freedom of sleeping as late as you want (especially since that is closely related to the freedom to stay up as late as you want). You like to roll out of bed, put on some comfy clothes, and get a laid back start to the day. If not everything on your list gets accomplished, no worries. Your only priority is having no priorities ? you just want to take things at a slow, mellow pace.

i’ve been attempting to start on IMH since……11pm. and i’ve progressed to the 3rd content slide of the first lecture while having some (LOOOOONG) breaks in between. okay, maybe not some. but at least i’m progressing! hahah. okay, back to making another futile attempt!
p.s: for the non-OT people, IMH stands for Introduction to Mental Health, and not Institute of Mental Health; though it’s likely that i’d be moving in there if i don’t start studying for real.
18 dear.
this is going to be my favourite phrase for damn long haha….at least until another classic phrase appears.
